"IRS "was refusing to grant nonprofit tax status to the Coalition for Life

"IRS "was refusing to grant nonprofit tax status to the Coalition for Life of Iowa
unless it agreed to limit its "picketing" and "protesting" of
Planned Parenthood."

Senator Confronts IRS Director Over Pro-Life
Group Told to Promote Abortion
by Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 5/21/13 6:27 PM

A U.S. senator confronted the acting director of the Internal Revenue
Service today with charges that the agency targeted pro-life groups with discrimination.

As LifeNews reported, the Internal Revenue Service was also targeting a pro-life Iowa group
that acts in part as a watchdog over the Planned Parenthood abortion
business. It was refusing to grant nonprofit tax status to the Coalition for Life of Iowa unless it
agreed to limit its "picketing" and "protesting" of Planned Parenthood.

In papers to the group, the IRS
questioned the "educational" nature of the Coalition's materials, prayer meetings, talks and other pro-life activities.

Today, Sen. Charles Grassley, an
Iowa Republican confronted outgoing IRS Acting Commission Steven Miller
about the discrimination. From CNS News:
"This comes directly from Iowa, one of my constituents attempted to establish 501(c)(3) charity called Coalition for Life of Iowa. She told my staff that an IRS agent told her 'Your application's ready
to go. However, it will not be approved until you send a letter signed
by your entire board under penalty of perjury saying that you will not
protest at Planned Parenthood,'" Grassley said at a Senate Finance
Committee hearing on the IRS' targeting of conservative groups.
>
>
>Grassley called it "outrageous"
that the statement would even be "made by anybody in government that
somehow you've got to compromise your First Amendment rights."
>
>
>In addition to the order that the group promise not to protest Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest
abortion provider, Grassley's constituent received a letter from the IRS with "several invasive questions, including the details of the group's
prayer meeting," he said.
>
>
>"Now stop to think about it – the government getting involved in somebody having a prayer meeting. It appears that the IRS essentially offered this group a quid pro quo –
You can become a charity if you don't protest in front of a Planned
Parenthood, generally speaking so you don't have to worry about 6103,"
Grassley said.
Miller said he could not speak to the specific organization in question but apologized on behalf of the agency.

Top IRS Official Will Take Fifth Before Congress

Tuesday, May 21, 2013 04:39 PM

By: Greg Richter

The IRS official over the division that reviews tax-exempt applications will invoke her Fifth Amendment right not to testify before Congress, her lawyer says.

Lois Lerner was scheduled to appear Wednesday before the House Oversight Committee. But in a letter to committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., her lawyer says she will not offer testimony under her constitutional rights against self-incrimination, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"She has not committed any crime or made any misrepresentation but under the circumstances she has no choice but to take this course," said the letter from Lerner's defense attorney William W. Taylor III.

Taylor says in the letter that the Department of Justice has launched a criminal investigation into why conservative groups were targeted for extra scrutiny and that Issa's committee has asked Lerner for an explanation why she gave "false or misleading information" four times in 2012.

Taylor asked that Lerner be excused from appearing since she will not be answering questions. Since she will not testify, Taylor argued that making Lerner appear would "have no purpose other than to embarrass or burden her."

The inspector general's report said Lerner was made aware in June 2011 that agents had used terms such as "tea party" and "patriot" to single out groups for additional scrutiny. She ordered that the criteria be changed.

In testimony to Congress, however, she never admitted the practice had taken place, even when asked multiple times by legislators.

Weapons recovery/MANPAD program

Benghazi Exclusive: State Department Denies Libya Weapons Buyback program Exists

By Marinka Peschmann (Bio and Archives) Tuesday, May 21, 2013
Comments | Print friendly | Subscribe | Email Us

Danger. Danger. Al Qaeda's Syrian wing also known as "rebels" bent on overthrowing Syria's President Bashar al-Assad (mirroring the Saudi, the Obama administration and Republican Senator John McCain's position), have taken over the oilfields that once belonged to Assad.

If that wasn't bad enough it gets worse. We are a hair trigger away from World War III. Reportedly Assad is preparing missile strikes against Tel Aviv if Syria is attacked again.

Meanwhile, back in Obama's America, don't call Libya's weapon recovery program "buyback" that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton funded using $40 million of your tax dollars after the Obama—Clinton regime toppled Col. Muammar Gaddafi because if you do, the State Department will deny it exists. You can however refer to it as the MANPAD program—Man-Portable-Air-Defense Systems or shoulder-fired-anti-aircraft missiles that the U.S. is "helping" Libya to recover and secure among its weapon stockpiles.

Yes, we have entered the smoke and mirror stage of the absurd by playing word games with the State Department now.

Why is getting the status and inventory of Libya's weapons recovery program so critical? Because arms from Libya have shown up in Syria. As the Wall Street Journal reported: "The U.S. effort in Benghazi was at its heart a CIA operation," and the State Department presence in Benghazi "provided diplomatic cover" to conceal weapon transfers from Libya to Syria.

Is that why all my Freedom of Information (FOIA) requests regarding Ambassador Christopher Stevens meeting with Turkish Consul General Ali Sait Akin before he was murdered have been denied?

Don't think the terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty and Sean Smith as Watergate, think bigger, think Iran Contra.

"What difference does it make?" shrieked Hillary Clinton, regarding the Benghazi terrorist attack, during her testimony before the Foreign Relations committee. A big one.

Gunrunning from Libya into Syria is a violation of international law. Furthermore, one has to ask how arming rebels in Syria would serve America's interests because it doesn't. Just like it didn't serve America's interest in Egypt or Libya where the Muslim Brotherhood has steadily gotten or is gaining power. Arms running would also explain why the Obama-Clinton regime gave "stand-down" orders and denied providing any help to Americans in peril. Do not be deceived by the administration's cover story, parroted by the mainstream press, that there was no time to send help to Benghazi, instead, as reported here, by not providing help or options—the Obama-Clinton regime guaranteed a bad outcome that could have spread throughout the region.

In a media query to the State Department sent on April 30, I asked for an update, inventory and location of all the weapons that have been recovered in Libya's "Buyback" program. I also inquired whether or not additional funding had been provided under Clinton or the current Secretary of State John Kerry.

Nicole Thompson, from the Office of Press Relations at the U.S. Department State, responded on May 1 with:

"Ms. Peschmann

The Department of State does not operate any weapons "buy-back" or acquisition programs in Libya. We are deeply concerned by the conventional weapons situation in Libya and its effects on neighboring countries and regions. The United States continues to work in coordination with the UN and international partners to support the democratically-elected Libyan government as it strives to secure these weapons, improve border security, and extend its authority throughout the country.

We are supporting the Libyans in this effort with technical assistance in the areas of border security and disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration. We have committed approximately $40 million to assist the Government of Libya in securing and disabling stockpiles of at-risk conventional weapons and ammunition. Our long-term strategy is to support the new Libyan government as it undertakes the difficult but necessary task of securing its inherited inventory of conventional arms.

For any additional information, I refer you U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Andrew J. Shapiro's recent remarks, which are hyperlinked below.

http://www.stimson.org/images/uploads/Shapiro_Libya_Remarks.pdf "

Ms. Thompson's response on behalf of the State Department is an absurd word game to corrupt the truth considering that even the New York Times in How to Control Libya Missiles? Buy them up called the weapons recovery program in Libya 'buyback.'

"The United States is discussing with the Libyan interim government the creation of a program to purchase shoulder-fired, heat-seeking missiles from militia members and others who gathered them up during the war, American government officials said…. Although such efforts are often called "buyback" programs, in this case even the label raises sensitivities, officials said (emphasis mine)."

Calling Libya's weapons recovery program "buyback" raises sensitivities for whom?

The State Department's word games become even more ridiculous considering Andrew Shapiro is the same Shapiro who was also quoted in the aforementioned New York Times article.

"Assistant Secretary of State Andrew J. Shapiro raised the American desire to arrange a purchase program in a meeting this month with Libya's new defense minister, according to American officials familiar with the proposal.

The United States has committed $40 million to secure Libya's arms stockpiles, much of it to prevent the spread of Manpads. No budget has been designed for a purchase program, and the price to be paid for each missile and its components has not been determined, the official said (emphasis mine)."

Moreover, Shapiro's remarks that were hyperlinked by Thompson to me is the same Shapiro in the New York Times article. Shapiro was, and is, the point guy. He is also, according to the Council of Foreign Relations, the longest serving political appointed State Department official, where there has been an unprecedented collaboration between the Department of Defense, State Department and in Benghazi—the CIA.

Why then is the State Department playing stupid word games with the truth? Does this explain why State did not provide an inventory or location of the weapons that were supposedly identified, recovered and secured using American tax dollars in Libya? The plot gets thicker here.

According to Shapiro's own remarks delivered on February 2, 2012 at the Stimson Center:

"Once the stalemate broke [in Libya] and the fighting rapidly shifted in the [Libya's Transitional National Council] TNC's favor in August, we immediately deployed a State Department expert from the MANPADS Task Force to Benghazi. Mark Adams, who you will hear from shortly on the panel, is the head of our MANPADS Task Force and spent considerable time on the ground in Libya… The initial primary objective was to reach an agreement with the TNC to set up a MANPADS control and destruction program that would enable us to set up what we call our Phase I efforts. Phase I entailed an effort to rapidly survey, secure, and disable loose MANPADS across the country. To accomplish this, we immediately deployed our Quick Reaction Force, which are teams made up of civilian technical specialists (emphasis mine)."

Yes, that's right. The unaccounted for weapons recovery program in Libya started in Benghazi. Are you awake yet?

I responded back to the State Department with follow-up questions on May 6 and received an autoreply from Ms. Thompson that she would be out of the office through May 22 so I resent the query to the main press query box at State. Surely more than one person handles press affairs there. Apparently not, over two weeks later and no one has responded.

My follow-up email query to the State Department press office is below.

"Dear Ms. Thompson,

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I really appreciate it. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Andrew J. Shapiro's remarks were most helpful as well. Thank you for providing them.

I realize now that the State Department doesn't like to refer to the weapons recovery program in Libya as a "buy-back" program but it has been reported as such in numerous places. I think this is an issue of semantics here. Yes, I am referring to the MANPAD program that Mr. Shapiro is also referring too. Therefore I think it would be incorrect or disingenuous to say that State doesn't "operate" a weapons recovery program in Libya when clearly they do and they provided the funds for it. Then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton provided $40 million to run it after Col. Gaddafi was toppled and Mr. Shapiro was very clear when he said State also operates 2 Mobile MANPAD teams. Can you clarify please?

Since the weapons recovery/MANPAD program is an interagency program but State, via then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton provided funding for it, who is in charge of its oversight? State, CIA, DHS, DoD or somebody else? A point man would be greatly appreciated because there were some critical reports about how the money was spent, and I'd really like to clear that up. Some people are suggesting that Congress was misled on how the money was spent. I think these stories appear because we cannot get a clear accounting on who spent what on what and the location of the weapons today. By providing a clear accounting and inventory of weapons thus far recovered would clear that up. Thank you.

Also who and what agency was supervising the funds given to Libya's Transitional National Council (TNC) for the MANPAD weapons recovery program? Thank you.

Best estimates suggest the Col. Gaddafi had 30,000 weapons (including surface to air missiles of different types Manpads… while State Department spokesman Mark Toner's estimate is roughly 20,000). While I know it is impossible to determine the exact amount, according to Mr. Shapiro's remarks currently about 5,000 have been recovered. That leaves us with a discrepancy of thousands of weapons out there—$40 million dollars later. Any update on these figures and where are these weapons today? Can I get an inventory and location of the 5,000 weapons that were apparently recovered? Thanks. I know based on my readership that taxpayers would like to see how their money was spent.

Can you provide me with the names of the NGOs who received $3 million as part of this weapons recovery program in Libya that Mr. Shapiro referred to in his remarks? Also which country were they primarily associated with, Brit, Saudi, Qatar, U.S., etc? Thanks.

Since these NGO's helped to recover MANPADS and other weapons, where did the weapons go? Who has them now? Can I get an inventory and location of them?

Who determines when a weapon is un-operable or operable?

The ones that were determined to be un-operable, how and when were they destroyed?

What purposes did the five Saudi/Qatari-owned warehouses situated in and around Benghazi serve? What was the involvement of any U.S. citizen, personnel, contractors, subcontractors with them?

What is the relationship between the U.S. government and the shipping company that brought Ambassador Stevens to Libya, along with other CIA assets? Can you draw a clear line between the various agencies involved and who is responsible for oversight?

At any time, were there weapons transferred between boats located about 12 miles offshore of Libya? If so, under what circumstances and conditions?

Were there any violation of international arms agreements committed? I must ask this because weapons from Libya have been found elsewhere.

What was Ambassador Christopher Stevens and Turkish Consul General Ali Sait Akin meeting in Benghazi about before his death? Just so you know the CIA and FBI are denying FOIA requests about this. For an administration who promised transparency, obviously this is very troubling. Americans would like to know what the Ambassador was doing before he was murdered. Thank you for any help you can provide on clearing this up and for being transparent.

Why were no options provided when Tyrone Woods (a GRS) called for help in Benghazi? At that time nobody knew what the outcome would be and by not providing any options guaranteed a bad outcome. This is obviously very disturbing and I hope you will clear this up once and for all. It is unimaginable for people serving in harm's way to think that if they call for help, none will come. This is a very dangerous precedence. Can you please explain, clarify and correct any misperceptions if there are any? As I am sure it is safe to say that nobody likes to feel like they are disposable, including yourself.

Last question. What does the administration think will happen after they topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad if that is what they intend to do as they have said they would do when the "red line" was crossed. Why would the outcome in Syria be any different than what happened in Libya and Egypt? Moreover, can you also comment on this report from Reuters: "U.N. Has Gathered Testimony Indicating That Syrian Rebels Have Used Sarin Gas," and not Assad?

Obviously this is very disturbing. Does the U.S. know where the Syrian rebels got the Sarin gas from, if so where and what does the U.S. plan to do about it? How does this latest development change the policy the administration has been pursuing for two years in Syria to overthrow Assad?

Thanks.

I know I have asked a lot but we are in very dangerous times right now and it is critical that people have confidence and an understanding of what exactly their government is doing on their behalf. I would like to help provide that by you/State answering these questions.

Many, many thanks for all your help.

Regards,

Marinka Peschmann"

Time will tell if Nicole Thompson responds to those critical questions properly with real information instead of word games when she gets back to the State Department on Wednesday.

But, wait, there is more. To be fair, according to Shapiro's remarks, "In Iraq, the United States has invested more than $200 million in conventional weapons destruction projects since 2003… Since the 1990s the State Department has provided more than $200 million in humanitarian mine action and conventional weapons destruction assistance to Afghanistan."

Do you know where the weapons are that you paid for?

Stay tuned, the hunt for the truth in Benghazi continues.

Screenshot of my email with the State Department is here.

Team Obama Intimidates IRS Workers with Armed Guards, Threatens Them If They Talk

Team Obama Intimidates IRS Workers with Armed Guards, Threatens Them If They Talk

Posted on May 21, 2013 byConservative Byte

They are getting desperate. You can see them squirming as their lies all come together to expose them for the hypocrites they are.
Check it out:

Monday afternoon, ABC News released a chilling report that details what journalists have faced while trying to get some answers from the Cincinnati IRS office, which is where a majority of the Tea Party targeting took place.

According to ABC, an "armed uniform police officer with the Federal Protective Service" "escorted" reporters through the public building. ABC says if the intent wasn't to "scare off" employees who might talk, "it was the effect."

ABC News is also hearing conflicting reports from Cincinnati IRS employees and the IRS Headquarters in Washington. A Washington spokesman told ABC that press queries are "referred to the press office," but that "people have First Amendment rights, they are entitled to speak."

An employee in OH said that is not the case and that staffers have been threatened with their jobs if they are caught talking to the media:

At the [Cincinnati] IRS office on the fourth floor, a woman who answered the buzzer referred reporters to officials in Washington, though they were not returning very many calls. That staffer also said she was not allowed to speak to anyone – a line that was repeated by agency personnel during the week.

RS headquarters in Washington denied that a no-talk rule was official policy because, after all, agency staffers still have a constitutional right to talk to whomever they want. …

Not so, said IRS folks in Ohio.

One of them, who asked not be named, told ABC News that security guards did remind employees of the official policy not to talk with the press – a warning cemented by the punch line "or risk losing our jobs."

The Obama administration's Culture of Intimidation knows no bounds, apparently.

Fwd: Tragedy in Oklahoma

-------

Header

Dear Bruce,

The devastation in Oklahoma is tremendous.  Yesterday, a massive tornado hit the suburbs of Oklahoma City, destroying thousands of homes, a hospital and even two elementary schools.  The death toll stands at 24 souls and may yet rise, with so many in hospitals and others still unaccounted for.  Many of the victims were children, attending school yesterday.

As the state director of AFP-Oklahoma, I'm grateful that my family and all Oklahoma AFP staff are safe; but many of our friends and neighbors cannot say the same.  Our state chapter has at least a hundred residents living in the two worst affected cities, Moore and Newcastle.

To aid in disaster relief, I've asked AFP activists statewide to donate much needed items to the Salvation Army. The outpouring of support already given to our community is overwhelming.  If you would like to donate please consider giving directly to the Salvation Army Disaster Relief here, by phone at (800)725-2769, or by text messaging "storm" to 80888 to donate $10 to relief and recovery efforts.

Keep Oklahoma in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks.  You can get real-time updates by following #PrayForOklahoma on Twitter.

I know the people of Moore and Newcastle and I know we will rebuild.  But today is very difficult for us all.

That is what America is all about, coming together to overcome, to help each other. The AFP family of activists has been through a lot and accomplished many things, and we'll get through this together.

Thank you again for your prayers and concern.

Sincerely,

Matt Ball

AFP-Oklahoma State Director

Priceless: Obama and the Media's Unrequited Love

Like most cowards, Obama only attacks those he knows won't fight back. And the only people who won't fight back are either helpless or bound by their politics not to resist the liberal messiah.

The Obama-Media War

Posted: 20 May 2013 10:12 PM PDT

Revolutions are rarely undone from the outside. Mostly they come apart from the inside as the forty thieves descend into petty squabbling over the loot.

The loot comes in different forms, but at its core it is always power. It may be the power to kill or to steal. It may be the power to claim a nice piece of real estate or to send a million people off to their deaths. The scale of it will occupy historians and shock the people of the future who leaf through the history books and walk through the silent museums, but it is all of one piece. The purpose of power, as a fellow in a little book by George Orwell once said, is power.

The quarrel between Obama and the Media is largely a lovers' quarrel, but the love is only there on one side. The media made Obama what he is. But what he is, among many other things, is a control freak spawned by a political ideology that distrusts everyone and consolidates power at all cost.

The media loved Obama, but it discovered early on that he did not love it back. Instead of basking in the adoration of the Candy Crowleys and the Anderson Coopers and the massive corporate machines behind them, the love child of every liberal fantasy shut them out, rigidly controlled their access and ruthlessly punished unauthorized conversations with the press.

The media had made Obama into a tin god, but were constantly suspected of heresy. Instead of being rewarded for their loyalty, they were kept at arm's length.

Obama Inc. knew that their biggest asset was the narrative.
A close study of Obama's qualifications or accomplishments would have given no conceivable reason for voting for him. The only thing he brought to the table was race and even in this he was less qualified than most of the black men who had run for president.

The narrative was the dearest treasure of Obama Inc. It was the one thing that its cronies protected. The economy could tank, wars could be lost and an asteroid could smack into the Pacific Ocean and none of it mattered nearly as much as the golden narrative. They didn't trust anyone with it including the media.

The media these days doesn't have much. Its numbers are bad in every medium from the tube to the inky pages of newsprint to the crackling AM radio waves. It isn't very profitable. Often it's a dead weight. But it wields a great deal of institutional power. The New York Times and CNN may both be dogs when it comes to the balance sheets, but owning either one gives you an impressive amount of heft in the national dialogue; though not as much as working for one of them does.

Power is all that the media has. Its power is projected in a fairly narrow circle. Fewer people are reading, watching and listening to it, so its circle becomes more incestuous. Everyone has learned to act like a member of the D.C. press corps, interpreting events through the lens of old West Wing episodes. The resulting noise reaches fewer people, but helps form the shaky consensus on which the institutional power of the media stands.

In its dying hour, the media used that power to ensure the double coronation of a corrupt Chicago politician with a facility for mimicking speech patterns. And that politician rewarded it by trying to bypass it and set up his own media.

Obama's vision of the proper place of the media isn't just at his feet, but under his control. Instead of dealing with the media, he has tried to cut it out of the loop by putting a larger emphasis on social media and developing narratives through think-tanks and media influencing groups. It was a power struggle that the media was initially baffled by. It had held out an ice cream cone to the little boy, only to have the little boy kick it in the shin, grab the ice cream cone and run away.

For years the media had groused about a lack of transparency, the unprecedented prosecution of whistleblowers and the hostile relationship between Obama Inc's minions and many reporters. The grousing was usually understated. It could be mentioned offhand, but not too loudly. When Bob Woodward made the mistake of speaking his mind, he was swiftly punished for it by the avatars of the post-media media, while the old media sat silently and watched the show.

But then Obama pushed its limits by invading the sanctum of the Associated Press. It was one thing when the administration was targeting whistleblowers, but quite another when the media's power became part of the collateral damage.

The week of scandals was the media reminding Obama that his smooth ride had been provided by them and that the ride could get very bumpy if his media ponies decide to take the back road to Benghazigate or drop by the IRS headquarters. It's a bluff, of course. The day may come when the media takes Obama out back and disposes of him so that the new messiah, perhaps in a pantsuit, can ascend the old Camelot throne, but that day isn't here yet.

Scandal week was a game of chicken between Obama and the media to see who would blink first. Would Obama decide to respect the institutional power of the media or would be consider pushing forward until the media blinked. A brief history of Obama Inc. suggests that he will keep pushing on.
Obama backs down from Muslim terrorists and Russian government thugs, but not from Americans.

Like most cowards, Obama only attacks those he knows won't fight back. And the only people who won't fight back are either helpless or bound by their politics not to resist the liberal messiah.

Obama knows that the media does not dare harm a hair on the head of the liberal agenda. And he made certain to appoint a Vice President whom no one in their right mind would want to see take over. Until 2016, it's Hussein or the highway. The media has shown that it can hamstring him even when the coverage is only mild. It is quite capable of turning up the temperature to boiling, though not without a civil war with Media Matters, Think Progress and a chunk of the liberal new media.

The media is a prisoner of its own ideology. It can't hit Obama too hard... yet. Not until they're making the case that Hillary will do a better job of governing than this inexperienced tyro did. Having abandoned any professional integrity years ago, it would be too late for most of the media to reclaim it now. Even in the name of its own institutional power.

This is the process by which leftists have collaborated in their own purges. It is why wealthy leftists financed revolutions that would rob them. The media's wealth is in its institutional power and it is being forced to accede to the redistribution of that influence.

Obama is not interested in an independent media, even if it is biased his own way. Leftists are great centralizers. They seize power by consolidating it under their control. The Democratic Party is struggling as Obama's OFA Super PAC loots their fundraising operations. Why does Obama need a Super PAC? Because it gives him another source of personal power while diminishing the power of established institutions. And the news media is just one more established institution for the children of the counterculture to beat to death with its own microphones.

The media is trying to make a statement about boundaries, but it lacks commitment. Even as it halfheartedly, though for the first time, covers actual misconduct by Obama Inc. with that smidgen of outrage which usually only creeps into its own when reporting on the dreaded (R's), it undermines its own show of force by discussing how quickly Obama will be able to get over the hump and back to his agenda. The media's blackmail of the man listening to its phone calls and scanning through its emails lacks conviction.

Obama needs the media, but the media needs him more. It doesn't need him for practical reasons, but for emotional reasons. It needs to believe that its corrupt institutional power has been put at the service of a higher purpose and a higher calling. It needs to believe this all the more as the ratings drop, the papers go unsold and the radio stations fill up with the voices of conservative talk show hosts. That emotional need makes the media the prisoner of this administration.

On his end, Obama has a practical need for the media, but no emotional need. Interviews, even of the softball media kind, challenge his control. They question him and Obama does not like being questioned. While media figures see themselves as serving a meaningful liberalizing institution, he sees them as carriers of a narrative. A narrative that can just as easily be carried anywhere else.

When Obama looks at the media, he doesn't see Walter Cronkite, he sees a bunch of radios, televisions and newspapers; which these days are little more than footnotes for the internet. There is nothing special about that to him or his cronies. Just mediums that distort his message because he doesn't control them. And so Obama chooses to control every medium he uses.

The Obama media war is good clean fun, but it's also a brief skirmish. Neither side can afford to extend the battle for very long. For the media the scandals will vanish as soon as they hear magic words like "Gun Control" or "Illegal Alien Amnesty". And for Obama, the war will end when one side or the other blinks.
