Fwd: Famous Black Actor to Obama: "Stop Talking Black in Public! F-ing Conjugate!"

Famous Black Actor to Obama: "Stop Talking Black in Public! F-ing Conjugate!" (But Says Obama Ebonics OK in Private)

By Debbie Schlussel

Like Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, and other pretentious wealthy Blacks–real and pretend (see Hillary)–Barack Obama speaks the Queen's English to White audiences and Ebonics to Black audiences. And actor Samuel L. Jackson is calling him out on it. Jackson says that while it is okay for Obama to speak in jive to his homies privately, he should "represent" like an educated person in public appearances and stop dropping his "G"s and so on at speeches before Black audiences. Here's what he told Playboy (if you don't want to visit Playboy–everyone knows people "only read it for the articles"–go here for the highlights of the interview):

On President Obama consciously dropping gs off the ends of words to sound like Joe Average: "First of all, we know it ain't because of his blackness, so I say stop trying to 'relate.' Be a leader. Be (effing) presidential. Look, I grew up in a society where I could say 'It ain't' or 'What it be' to my friends. But when I'm out presenting myself to the world as me, who graduated from college, who had family what cared about me, who has a well-read background, I (effing) conjugate."

I don't agree with everything (actually, probably anything) Jackson says or does (he's generally a racist), but at least he had the guts to call out Obama. On the other hand, only a Black guy could do this and get away with it. And I do agree with this part, below, too, as I have frequently lamented "Mediocrity Nation" a/k/a America on this site:

On never settling for mediocrity: "On Twitter someone will write, 'Your an idiot,' and I'll go, 'No, you're an idiot,' and all my Twitterphiles will go, 'Hey, Sam Jackson, he's the grammar police.' I'll take that. Somebody needs to be. I mean, we have newscasters who don't even know how to conjugate verbs, something Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow never had problems with. How the … did we become a society where mediocrity is acceptable."

So, how the bleep did we become a society where mediocrity is acceptable? That's kinda like asking how the bleep did we become a society where Samuel L. Jackson is a major movie star and the movie "Django Unchained" (read my review) is a major hit?

Same answer.

Fwd: Rep Peter King: Congressional A-hole

Rep Peter King: Congressional A-hole

Sep 25, 2013 10:30 pm | Jeff Dunetz

One of the strangest parts of the Ted Cruz-led fight against Obamacare is how Long Island Congressman Peter King has used it for his own, nasty political purposes. King who has hinted at a 2016 Presidential bid (please stop laughing) has been trying to show himself to being a moderate by attacking the Junior Senator from Texas (and not looking very smart doing it)

The Long Island Congressman who voted for the bill to defund Obamacare has been bashing Cruz at every opportunity possibly for stirring up the public on the issue forcing King to take a stand.

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) believes Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is a fraud, and he hopes Friday's house vote defund "Obamacare" and keep the government running will expose the Senator as such. King added that he hopes Cruz will "no longer have any influence in the Republican Party.

Later in that same interview he said Cruz's tactics were:

" just a form of governmental terrorism."

Crazy words Right? Its not that crazy for King--he once compared Gerry Adams, leader of Irish terror group Sinn Féin, to George Washington.

Mother Jones said this of Rep. King

Over parts of three decades, from his days as an aspiring politician in Long Island through his early years in Congress, King was one of the nation's most outspoken supporters of the Irish Republican Army and a prolific fundraiser for the Irish Northern Aid Committee (NorAid), allegedly the IRA's American fundraising arm. The IRA waged a paramilitary campaign against the British presence in Northern Ireland for decades before peace accords were signed in 1998. Part of that effort included bombings and shootings that resulted in civilian deaths in England and Northern Ireland. During the period of King's involvement, the US government accused both NorAid and the IRA of links to terrorism.

Perhaps King should avoid accusing others of terrorism.

But the sourpuss from Seaford, Long Island wasn't done. Today he appeared on the Anderson Cooper show and unleashed this divisive nonsense:

Cruz may view himself as a conservative "folk hero" the majority of the country is rallying behind, "those I've spoken to think he's crazy."

King likened this to the Charge of the Light Brigade and said Cruz is a "kamikaze pilot," ultimately finding his tactics to be destructive to the Republican party. He continued to call Cruz a fraud and a "medicine man selling goods he knows are phony goods."

If all the people Rep. King has spoken to think Cruz crazy, then perhaps he should get out more.  What Cruz did was bring the case against Obamacare to the general pubic. His pseudo-filibuster was covered by liberal and conservative-skewing press, and he rallied the base of the party.

What King did was look foolish, a Presidential wanna-be trying to be as publicly divisive as the President he is looking to replace.  The jury is still out on whether Ted Cruz's strategy was the correct thing for the party long term, but one can be100% sure Cruz's strategy beats the heck out of Peter King's divisive politics.

Fwd: Obama and Democrats Unbelievably Constitutionally Illiterate

Constitutionally Illiterate

By Betsy McCaughey on 9.25.13 @ 6:09AM

When it comes to the Constitution and Obamacare, the Democrats are proud to be Know Nothings.

Displaying their ignorance of the U.S. Constitution, Democratic bigwigs are excoriating Republican members of the House of Representatives for attaching a condition — no Obamacare — to a stopgap bill to fund the government. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called it "extortion." Rep. Steny Hoyer labeled it"hostage-taking." Rep. Nancy Pelosi termed it "legislative arson."

In truth, what the House Republicans are doing is not blackmail. It's checks and balances in action. Congress has always had the power to attach almost any condition — including repealing or changing a law — to appropriations. The framers wrote the Constitution that way for good reason.

The nation's first plan of government, the Articles of Confederation, had no president. When the framers gathered in 1787 to write a second, more effective plan, they reluctantly created the presidency. Reluctantly, because the founders worried that a president would accumulate power and spend flagrantly as they had seen the despotic kings of Europe do.

To prevent that, the founders created checks and balances. In the words of James Madison, the Constitution's chief architect, each branch of government is "effectually checked and restrained by the others."

Congress was given power over the purse — the power to appropriate money and to borrow it or raise it through taxes, because locating the power in Congress would force the president to constantly negotiate with Congress.

Fast forward 226 years to last Friday. President Obama called Speaker of the House John Boehner to say "he will not negotiate"with Congress on raising the U.S. government's borrowing authority. The President, who claims to be a constitutional scholar, needs a refresher course.

The same day, Obama whipped up a crowd at a Ford plant, complaining that by attaching conditions to the appropriations bill, House Republicans are "trying to mess with me." Yes, they are, Mr. President, though Madison expressed it with more elegance and precision.

"An elective despotism is not the government we fought for,"Madison wrote in Federalist 58. A president with the power to borrow and spend at will would be just that.

Sadly, large numbers of Americans are at risk of being bamboozled by the Democrats' inflammatory accusations and warnings of a government shutdown.

One reason is that shockingly, only a third of Americans can identify the three branches of government (Pew Foundation poll). That's how gravely our civics education has failed.

Secondly, the President's party is fanning fears of a shutdown, something no one wants. But let's be clear: the military would continue to operate, doctors and nurses would still come to work at federal hospitals, air traffic controllers and other emergency personnel would be on the job, and everyone would eventually get paid. If you're planning a trip to Yellowstone National Park, you might be inconvenienced.

Compare that to what's at stake: preserving the Constitution. The health reform the President is insisting on implementing is a distorted, mangled, half-baked version of what Congress enacted in 2010. It is no longer the Affordable Care Act. The President is illegally picking and choosing what parts to keep. Gone is the employer mandate, the cap on out-of-pocket expenses, income verification for subsidy recipients, and over half the deadlines in the law. These changes are not just illegal. They shift billions of dollars in costs onto taxpayers, cheat seriously ill patients, leave employees in the lurch, all in a devious attempt to patch up an unworkable law.

In Federalist 62, Madison warned that it will be pointless for Americans to elect a Congress, if it in turn enacts laws "too voluminous to be read," or if these laws then"undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be tomorrow." That's Obamacare. .

In last week's Saturday radio address, Obama again confronted House Republicans, demanding that they fund the government, no questions asked. Obama claimed that "the most basic constitutional duty Congress has is passing a budget."

Wrong again, Mr. President. Congress's most basic duty is to protect and defend the Constitution, and withholding the money is the chief way to do it.

Permanently Lay Off the Parasitic Sector

Permanently Lay Off the Parasitic Sector
by Jacob G. Hornberger September 26, 2013

One of the most amusing and fallacious aspects of the government-shutdown debate is when statists argue that a layoff of public-sector personnel would spell economic disaster for America. Laying off all those people, statists say, would add to the ranks of the unemployed, thereby increasing welfare payments. It would also, they say, be a death knell to countless businesses that would no longer receive the business of all those laid-off workers.

Actually, from an economic standpoint, permanently laying off thousands of welfare-state and warfare-state federal personnel would be the greatest thing that could ever happen to our country.

Imagine a society in which there are one million citizens, 90 percent of whom work for the government. That means that the 100,000 people in the private sector must produce the wealth that sustains the 900,000 people who are working for the government.

Why is this true? Because the government sector is unlike the private sector. The government sector is the parasitic sector. It gets the money to sustain its payroll and operational expenses by taxing the private sector.

The private sector is the productive sector. It produces the wealth in a society. It is the key to economic prosperity and rising standards of living for the people in that society. The more wealth that the private sector produces, the more savings there are. The more savings, the more capital. The more capital, the more productive people are. The more productivity, the more prosperity and the higher the standard of living for people in that society.

Thus, it stands to reason that the more wealth that the government confiscates from the private sector, the worse off people are. People in a society where the government is confiscating only 2 percent of wealth are going to be much better off economically than those in a society in which the government is confiscating 98 percent of the wealth.

If the federal government were to permanently lay off thousands of welfare-warfare state workers, statists would point to all those unemployed people who are no longer shopping at the mall and argue that the layoffs are responsible for a recession.

Where the statists go wrong is in focusing only on what is seen, rather than on what is unseen.

Laying off all those people in the parasitic sector means that it is no longer necessary to confiscate the wealth to sustain their salaries and operational expenses. That means more savings in the private sector and, therefore, higher standards of living for people in that society.

It also means that the people who previously were in the parasitic sector will now be in the productive sector, getting jobs that will be opening up owing to all that wealth that is now being retained in the private sector.

So, laying off all those government people has a doubly positive effect. First, it increases the savings and productivity of those in the private sector. Second, it converts federal workers from parasitic workers into productive workers, thereby adding to savings and productivity.

The problem is that as the government sector expands in a society, it creates the illusion that the parasitic sector, owing to its enormous size and reach, must be kept intact and even expanded to maintain economic prosperity.

But that's the worse thing a society can do because it will only move society further in the wrong direction -- in the direction of impoverishment and bankruptcy.

The best thing people can do is permanently lay off all those parasitic workers (and bring an end to their welfare-warfare functions), thereby restoring the right of people in the private sector to keep their wealth and thereby raising everyone's standard of living in that society.

Call congress 202 224 3121 and say vote NO on cloture

Press Release of Senator Cruz

Sen. Cruz: Congress Should Listen to American People, Defund Obamacare

Votes for Cloture on the Motion to Proceed to H.J. Res 59; Will Oppose Final Cloture Vote to End Debate on the Bill, Unless Reid Agrees Not to Add Obamacare Funding

Contact: press@cruz.senate.gov(202) 228-7561
Wednesday, September 25, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Tuesday and Wednesday, spent more than 21 straight hours on the Senate floor making his case to his Senate colleagues and the American people for why Congress should listen to the American people and defund Obamacare.

Following Sen. Cruz's remarks, the Senate voted on cloture on the motion to proceed to the bipartisan House-passed bill Continuing Resolution, H.J. Res. 59, that funds the government while defunding Obamacare. This vote was just an initial procedural step to continue debate before the final cloture vote to end debate on the House bill, which is expected later this week. Sen. Cruz voted for cloture on the motion to proceed, which passed 100-0, and will vote against final cloture on the bill. Opposing final cloture is crucial to protecting the House bill and ensuring that Sen. Reid cannot add Obamacare funding into the House bill with gimmicks and a simple majority vote.

Below are excerpts from Sen. Cruz's remarks on the Senate floor:

"My plea to this body is that we listen to the American people, because if we listen to our constituents, the answer is we need to defund this bill that isn't working, that's hurting the American people, that's killing jobs, that's forcing people into part-time work, that's driving up health insurance premiums and that's causing millions to lose or fear that they will lose their health insurance.

"I simply want to note to the American people that this debate is in your hands. Ultimately all 100 Senators, all 46 Republicans, all 54 Democrats, work for you. The pleas from the American people, particularly in Texas, are deafening. The frustration that the United States Senate doesn't listen to the people is deafening. So I call on all 46 Republicans to unite, to stand together and to vote against cloture on the bill on Friday or Saturday.

"Otherwise, if we vote with the Majority Leader and with the Senate Democrats, we will be voting to allow the Majority Leader to fund Obamacare with a partisan 51 vote threshold. The American people will understand that, and voting to give that power to the majority leader is not consistent with the heartfelt commitment of all 46 members of the Republican Conference to oppose Obamacare."

Fwd: Please Consider...

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Subject: Please Consider...
To: Bruce <Majors.bruce@gmail.com>

Dear Bruce:

Every once in awhile a candidate for Congress comes along that really impresses me – so much so that I personally contribute to them.
I want to introduce you to one such leader: CARL DEMAIO.
Carl is openly gay and is running as a "New Generation Republican" for US Congress – in one of the most watched Congressional races in the country.
Carl DeMaio's is truly exceptional in today's political world, not because just because he's gay, but because he has taken on the forces of big government and won.  Several times over!
Carl DeMaio: Taxpayer Watchdog
DeMaio has been uncovering waste, fraud and abuse in government for years.  In the 1990s, he helped implement a law to force all federal government programs to measure and publicly report performance standards.  Guess what?  Many of the programs failed their performance test. DeMaio also was one of the few voices to predict California's fiscal meltdown and helped uncover the pension scandal and fiscal crisis in San Diego.
Carl DeMaio: Getting Big Reform Done
DeMaio doesn't just point out problems – he is a breath of fresh air in offering bold solutions.  In San Diego, DeMaio wrote the plan to save the city from bankruptcy.  While serving in the minority party of the City Council, DeMaio galvanized public pressure to get many of his reforms approved – ranging from outsourcing city services to cutting red tape on small businesses.   We have Republicans in the Majority in Washington DC that haven't produced as much change as DeMaio did while serving in the minority!
Carl DeMaio: A National Leader for Pension Reform
DeMaio's biggest win was getting a massive Pension Reform Initiative passed in San Diego to close the unsustainable and overly-generous government pension boondoggle that almost bankrupted the city.  DeMaio led the charge to switch our government workers to 401(k) retirement accounts – with benefits benchmarked to the penny against what the taxpayers receive.  DeMaio is now proposing to take his Pension Reform proposals nationwide!
Carl DeMaio: A Plan to Fix Congress
The best part about Carl DeMaio is he is ready to take both political parties on in Washington DC to force change.  DeMaio has outlined a bold and ambitious "Fix Congress First" Initiative to force Congress to live under the same laws it expects the rest of us to live under.  Under DeMaio's plan, Members of Congress would lose gifts, free travel, and generous pensions and health care subsidies.  Congress would have to comply with all laws with no exemptions.  To force Congress to read bills before they pass them, DeMaio would impose a "72 Hour Rule" for all legislation to be posted online for the public to read before any votes are taken.
Can you imagine the impact Carl DeMaio will have when he's elected?
I can – and that's why I'm asking you to help elect Carl DeMaio by contributing today.
Here's the secure link for contributions: https://fs2.formsite.com/carldemaio/form1/secure_index.html
Mark my words – you will be hearing a lot more about Carl DeMaio in the coming months and years.
Join me and be there with Carl from the beginning by contributing right now.

Thanks,

Ross

PS: Carl faces a big deadline for contributions this week!  So please donate any amount right now at this site:https://fs2.formsite.com/carldemaio/form1/secure_index.html
